As the creatives from Luzinterruptus wished to edify commoners, visitors and the Internet audiences with tenets of water conservation, they created an extraordinary collection of illuminating bags – which are lanterns in fact – from plastic, golden water (food coloring) and colored confetti. Displayed at the Urban Art Madrid 2010, the art display, comprising of 100 such units, glowed beautifully through the night.
When swirled as gyre, the colored liquid inside the plastic bags emitted bright flashes to produce golden radiance. The liquid was later sprinkled on plants or trees in the Plaza square. Gustavo Sanabria captured the event though some wonderful images that you see below:
