Six new frog species discovered over just a two-year period! Yes, it all happened in the Southeast Asia nation of Lao PDR. But, little is known about these new frogs, excepting that the place where they live and how they differ morphologically from other similar species.
Bryan Stuart of the Field Museum, a co-author of the study said,
Now that these species have been documented we can go back and start to learn something about their biology.
Lao PDR is the least densely populated country in Asia. And in recent years, it has produced a hot-bed for wildlife discoveries. Since 2002, Stuart and his collaborators discovered nine amphibians there.
