Intivation unveiled a solar powered phone for the eco-minded folks, who prefer features to green label. Unveiled yesterday, the ZTE S316 Solar Phone was complemented by a high performance solar charger, the Solar Egg, built by XPAL. This super-simple candybar with color display and torch is the second solar powered phone for the company.

The stand alone universal Solar Egg S101 charger is designed to work in sub-optimal weather conditions. With just four hours of exposure during average charging conditions, this super cool charger is capable of charging the battery up to 90%. The company uses its SunBoost technology for its green phones. It puts the technology on a chip and then sells it to mobile phone manufacturers, who make phones by taking help from the Intivation. The company plans to launch three solar powered phones and three universal chargers in 2010.
