Donggaodi Sub-district Administrative Office and Fengtai Science and Technology Association have constructed a new zero-carbon cabin in Yixin Garden in the Donggaodi area of Fengtai District. Scheduled to open formally in April this year, it's open for a trial for two days this month. The ambitious project, i.e. a 50-square-meter transparent glass house, touts a multitude of green features viz. rooftop solar panels, eight fitness bikes, two children's rocking carts, a large LED display screen and two touchscreens.

Fitness equipment in this cabin can generate power when used. All the facilities here are powered by electricity generated by the fitness equipment and the solar panels.
The exercise equipment has attached voltmeters and ammeters that display the created energy. The green construction started in December 2009, involving a total investment of 650,000 Yuan.
