Since its inception, the Xiamen BRT has been promoting ‘accessible, orderly, safe, comfortable, low power consumption and low pollution transit’. With the recent unveiling of a solar power station to its Mucou wing, it has added another feather to its cap. The China's first green electricity BRT pilot site promises kWh of electricity each day, which is just enough to support station's power demands. Moreover, the introduction of LEDs to replace ordinary lights will save 80% of power.
