Wrightbus has just recently been commissioned to manufacture the New Bus for London that will integrate latest hybrid technology with a novel design. Basing it on the classic Routemaster design, the new roadliner will actually be 40% more fuel-efficient than the latter. The newest inclusion to London’s low emission bus fleet will challenge the green credentials of the current London hybrid buses while it being 15% more fuel-efficient than its counterparts.

Moreover, the new technology will go on to reduce NOx emissions by 40% and PM by 33%. The bus with three-doors will have two staircases to allow no less than 87 passengers to board it. Well Londoners and Transport for London, you need to wail until the first New Bus hits the streets in 2011.
