When recycled fridges become works of art

Desh Raj SharmaJun 4 2010

The Salt River Project contacted 16 local artists from Arizona to transform trashed refrigerators into some catchy artworks that could interest kids and adults alike. The campaign, dubbed as Fridge-A-Thon, purchases old, working refrigerators and freezers from customers for $30, and puts them away to ensure that their continued use doesn't harm the environment.
