Man has gained its ‘merciless’ image from the environment he lives and thrives on. To let their ends meet, humans have over-devastated forests - with the northern forests in the war-wretched Israel hard to avoid.

The Hizbullah’s rockets during the Second Lebanon War have rummaged more than 12,000 dunams of northern forest land!

It took the war just 34 days to spark more than 800 forest fires to flatten the greens. But unfortunately, the charitable organization, Jewish National Fund (JNF) had painstakingly planted these trees 100 years ago.

But recently, the scorched ruins of those forests are made use to design a new landscape for Israel. The green landscape will be rich with a great variety of flora and fauna that existed ever before in the region, courtesy the new project.

Worked as a forest ranger in the Biriya forest for more than 24 years, Yossi Karni said,

This is not like any other forest. I grew these trees. Out of my own hands they came and went into the ground. I feel like their father. Now I am planting new trees, new children. I have much more knowledge and resources to make this crop better... It is a second chance.

The coming years, Israel may see a total and healthy replenishment of the northern forests.
Thanks to JNF for its ambitious plan to invest NIS 60-70 million for it.

Hope, after a complete replenishment of the forest, new technology and other state-of-the-art equipments will be effectively used to fight the tech-dependent devastations and efficiently both for maintaining the forest and helping rangers patrol and guard the area.
