Walden offers simple lifestyle in the lap of nature

Like they say, all good things come in small packages, so does this tiny wooden ‘home’ structure. Dubbed the “Walden”, this amazing structure designed by German architect Nils Holger Moormann is partly a prefab mobile camping unit, partly a green garden shed and partly small-space summer cabin. Named after the great American author, Henry David Thoreau’s book that was a reflection upon simple living in natural surroundings, this cute little home exhibits ingenuity, style and uniqueness.

The portable, lightweight home is barely wider than a standard swing door, but surprisingly accommodates quite a lot. It houses an open-sided living, dining and reading room. If you wish to take some rest, a set of stairs on one end takes you up to a relatively-enclosed attic bedroom space that not only feature small slot windows for side views, but also include a large roof-spanning skylight that slides open to let more light in.

You will be pleasantly surprised to see the cabin fever’s exterior walls have such a lot to offer. They have a number of built-in cabinets that lets you store all your gardening equipments, while cupboards serve as storage for tableware, decorative objects and even a barbeque. Enjoy the goodness of a conventional house in the lap of nature.
