UrNatur, a member of the Swedish Ecotourism Society, is a wood hermitage for those globe-trekkers who’ve a special place for nature in their excursions. The completely off-the-grid location blends luxury with simplicity. It’s at a distance of just three hours by car from Stockholm.

There are cabins, hand-crafted cottages and treehouses housing conference halls and tin castles. The houses are built from trees uprooted by storms. Solar cells on top of the bath house generate ample power for a 12 volt lamp. To keep the stay extremely simple, the guests are served home grown vegetables combined with wild herbs, berries, mushrooms or birch sap.

The bath house, built from standing timber like the old wooden stave churches, contains a wood-fired sauna. The tree hut is the nicest of them all. So, just surrender to the unparalleled beauty of nature and have a green stay!
