After putting green living practices on a vertical pedestal with the Asakusa Tree Home, the Ryuichi Ashizawa Architects now proposes to do the same with a Community Park in Chicago. The proposed redesign dubbed Urban-Open will include the installation of a greenhouse, wall plantings, water recycling system, storeroom, gallery, and future building foundation.

Apart from the environmentally friendly features mentioned above, you’ll see the green project flaunting vertical axis wind turbines, tree-shaped solar panels and green roofs. Moreover, the construction will involve use of various found materials and a core of waste and building by-products. One more advantage the project comes with a low budget. So, even a small funding could help some budding entrepreneur or an established builder to realize what could be termed as a truly green and novel venture.
