Paysages en Exil is an experiential journey that was part of the national cultural event Imaginez Maintenant, which features work of young multidisciplinary designers in nine French cities. Designed by French architect Nicolas Dorval Bory in collaboration with Raphael Betillon, the project along the hospital of La Grave in Toulouse is a beautiful plants travel in which visitors are invited to explore an unlikely landscape, a condensation of climates, a mix of nature from all over the world.

Deriving inspiration from Gilles Clément’s description of “wandering plants phenomenon,” this 50m long agricultural greenhouse is prepared with medicinal plants’ seedlings coming from the five continents. The 100m long thick cloud of mist created by spraying of the Garonne River through 1000 nozzles, on the bank and the Viguerie footbridge make a mesmerizing view, thanks to French company Dutrie.

The 25 000 visitors who enjoyed the art event saw 2000 seedlings specially selected and prepared with the agricultural high school of Auzeville. As the visitors enter the bright tunnel, they are asked to pick the plant of their choice, and walk the entire greenhouse to see all the beautiful and life-saving plants in the magnificent environment. After enjoying the plants travel, the visitors are invited to plant the seedling that they have carried so far wherever they wish to.
