England can once again flaunt the symbol of the city of Liverpool, but this time with a sculpture made from trash. With recycling practices being encouraged in the city, a sculpture of a Liverpool Liverbird is created entirely from recycled rubbish. The beautiful piece of art whose goal is to show the way a large variety of materials that are considered nothing more than rubbish can be recycled has been put on exhibit.

The information center in the Liverpool One shopping complex is the place that very proudly displays the bird sculpture. Liverpool residents have been encouraged to recycle as much as possible. Over the last five years, recycling rates in the city have seen a rise from 15,000 tonnes to 49,000 tonnes. This eco-friendly city recycles waste textiles into mattresses and glass bottles into sand for golf courses, while recycled newspaper is brought back on the shelf in seven days. Liverpool is decreasing the amount of waste it sends to the landfills, which is great news for the environment.
