Steve Dallas, president of Toronto Electric, is busy transforming a vintage 1917 Raush Electric into an A2B car. The prototype vehicle will feature a dense lithium battery pack, placed in the center, coupled with a 43 kW motor. With fully charged batteries, the 1,600 lbs vehicle would cover a distance of 210 kilometers with no difficulty.

Steve availed the expert services of Dutchman Design, Montreal, for the car design that flaunts a one-piece fiberglass body. The tiny front hood offers ample space for the single-speed gearbox and a diesel-powered heater. Lowdown Hot Rods of Cambridge, Ontario built the Chromalloy frame of the car. The zero-emission car nowhere falls short on the tech side; a console-mounted touch screen for monitoring and making adjustments make the car a programmable computer on wheels.
