Sustainable City Lights harness solar and wind energy

Taking inspiration from the opening and closing of a flower bud, Philips Design has visualized the Sustainable City Lights. The intelligent lighting systems harness solar and wind energy, and beam up the LEDs automatically when they sense the human presence. If none is around them, these emit a soft glow only.

Another element that makes them extremely energy-efficient is their ability to transfer any surplus energy to the main grid.
