Spinning glass and copper sprinklers play with water, sunbeams

Steve Hopkins, a human resources manager in Seattle, will be at Sorticulture, Everett's 13th annual garden and arts festival, selling his arty copper and glass sprinklers. Dubbed as Hoppy’s Garden Art, each of his 4-foot-tall sprinklers contain two alternatively spinning copper circles that lob water up and out to create a visually appealing display of water streams. A single, colorful glass ball positioned at the heart of his sprinklers play with sunlight when idle.

Every sprinkler contains:

- a 30" tall copper stand with a 3-prong iron base for solid stability, and a hose connector,

- an 18" outer copper hoop with sprinkler holes,

- and some have an inner 11" copper hoop with sprinkler holes.

Depending on the water pressure, the sprinklers throw water over areas of 15-40 foot diameter. Customers need to clean the sprinklers' brass and copper fittings to avoid water deposits and outdoor abrasions. Those who can’t make it to Sorticulture can buy them here for $190 a pop.
