Not a week has passed since we told you about the world's first biofuel-powered chopper that waits in the wings to take over Australian skies. Going one step ahead, a Durban company called Adept Airmotive added a biofuel-powered engine to a South African SA Ravin 500 light aircraft that took to the skies at Virginia Airport in Durban. The extremely light engine emitted least emissions as it produced 320 horsepower.

The 158 kilograms ADEPT 320T engine is 30% lighter than traditional piston engines and can run on a normal unleaded petrol, standard aviation fuel (AVGAS), liquid petroleum gas or biofuel.
