Here’s a chance for the COP15 delegates to express regret over their casual attitude in preferring airliners to bring them to Copenhagen. They are supposed to talk on emissions, aren’t they? Anyway, Solazyme will allow these 'green delegates and journalists' from world over a green ride in the algae-powered Mercedes Benz E-Class sedan. The Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ initiative, dubbed as ‘Driving the Future’, will enlighten them with tenets of clean transportation.

As the world convenes in Copenhagen to discuss global climate change policy, Solazyme will demonstrate a means to address global climate change that is viable today. Our hope for the session is that the Conference of the Parties will set the stage for consistent policy that supports all emerging technologies.
Solazyme makes use of its unique microbial fermentation process to produce the biofuel called SoladieselRD™. After it’s combined with Honeywell’s UOP/Eni Ecofining™ process technology, the fuel goes greener than before and produces almost nil greenhouse gas emissions. The Soladiesel™ unblended (B100) will run the vehicle through the COP15 summit and the Bright Green Expo that is supposed to take place on Dec. 12 – 13, 2009, at Forum, Copenhagen.
