Solar Window: Let your window power your home appliances

Aditi JustaSep 22 2010

The bright sun smiling at us from the sky offers enormous energy to power our lives sustainably. Although, solar panels are a great way to harness solar energy, but their heavy weight, high cost and difficult installation procedure are forcing people to look for convenient alternatives. One such pioneering alternative is “Put full of light into Windows”. Designed by Korean designers Yujin Cho, Lee Yu Jin and Kim Jun Se, this solar window captures solar energy using solar heat panels and provides energy to power household appliances like toaster, microwave, mixer etc. A multi-tap at the bottom of the window lets you plug in your gadgets. It is one of the most appreciated entries at the Design For All competition this year.
