Imagine a life without your cellphones, iPods, PSP’s and DS’s, etc. It’s a horrifying nightmare, isn’t it? But, all these devices that have become an integral part of your life often run out of juice and demand recharging. One can easily power up gadgets through electric switches, but what if you are on the go? People today require mobile power, and solar chargers are the perfect solution. Industrial designer Eric Strebel has designed a solar-powered charger that he calls the “Solar Vox.”

This light, compact, and rugged device is designed to recharge all your USB supported handheld devices. It also has the capability to charge two standard "AA" rechargeable batteries and is USB-compliant. Strebel, who teaches Industrial Design at Wayne State University, has designed the solar charger to enable four optimum solar angles of 0°, 30°, 70° and 90 degree, making it ideal to be used anywhere and anytime. Running his own home-based design studio, this creative designer is into equipment recycling business.
