SANYO Canada Inc and AVACOS Solar Energy have come up with the first Canadian photovoltaic system that combines SANYO’s HIT® (Heterojunction with Intrinsic Thin-layer) Double bifacial solar PV modules and DuROCK Tio-Coat reflective roof membrane. Just recently, they assembled them at DuROCK Alfacing International Ltd.’s headquarters in Woodbridge.

Outmoding the traditional single-sided PV modules with 30% higher efficiency, the SANYO HIT double PV modules exhibit a dual surface. Hence, these can be used in making carports or porch coverings. On the other hand, DuROCK Tio-Coat provides 89% solar radiation reflectivity and weather resistance since it’s a high-strength white elastomeric urethane roof coating.
