By putting in a little hard work and accentuating it with unique imagination, old waste items can be transformed into a beautiful piece of art. This statement has been proved true by an Amsterdam-based designer Pepe Heykoop, who has used old furniture and scrap leather to create masterpieces. Interestingly, her creations have collectively been named as Skin Collection since these feature all the unique-looking items.

Agitated on seeing the amount of wastage in the furniture industry, Pepe decided to create something extraordinary by covering up the waste old furniture with multicolored leather scraps. If you have a close look at the designs, you will feel that not only have these items been covered up, but have also been transformed into decorative pieces.
Apart from creating the beautiful skin collection, the great work of the designer also focuses on the importance of recycling. If these unwanted items would not have been used, they would have surely been lying somewhere as waste, adding to the pollution. The great concern of the designer toward the environment is reflected in her creations, and it is worth appreciating.
