Having adorned the Hawthorne Cove Marina with floating art last year, professor Ken Reker and his Sculpture – Mixed Media class have created nine sculptures from recycled objects for specific locations within Leslie’s Retreat Park this year. The art-team includes Charley Ammerman, Marissa Cerretani, Amber DelTochio, Gerald Hersh, Devon Rose, Diana Hernando, Nashua Rosa, Rachel Rosen, and Sijie Wang: all from the Salem State College. The public sculptures are on display from July 20 through August 3.

Installed from the North Street to the Flint Street ends of the park, the sculptures include a large pink lotus blossom, a metal dog and three fishing poles. The artworks were created from household items, recycled material, and stuff like PVC piping and police tape.
