Sculptures made from found objects honor street workers

While cruising in your lavishly comfortable vehicle, how many of you take notice of the people working on the streets? I bet not many. Acknowledging their effort is Specter, a street artist who has created an art series to pay tribute to street workers. Hailed as “Shopping Cart Sculptures,” the exquisite works of art are made of old shopping carts, cement and found objects in public spaces around New York. They are placed in parks, squares and underpasses that are crossroads for the general public and street workers, allowing people to celebrate the workers’ skill and spirit. I am sure the installations have given the workers enough reason to take pride in their profession and of course themselves.
