Sayaka Kajita Ganz gives life to discarded objects

Inspired by a famous Japanese belief, that each and every object has spirit, and if they are disposed off before their time they cry in the dark inside the waste bin, Sayaka Kajita Ganz creates artwork from discarded objects. She uses anything from kitchen utensils to broken toys to design unique pieces of art, into a form of an animal or any other organism that appears to be alive.

The artist by means of re-inventing and renovating not only creates striking pieces of sculptures, but also minimizes the usage of valuable resources. Sayaka's theory behind producing organic forms using odd shapes and waste material is that, everyone in the community need not be similar to gel along well and it is not necessary to match all the aspects of people we love. By fitting together uneven parts and giving life to objects, she tries to create peace and harmony, and build positive relationships between different personalities. Her passion to fit peculiar shapes together is also a result of her constant movement from one country to another which required her to adjust in various different environments and culture.

The most striking feature about her work is that she tries to create movement in her sculptures. Recycling discarded objects that some may consider as trash, into something exquisite is quite a talent.
