Sanyo Electric to supply HIT solar panels to the largest solar plant in Italy‎

Sanyo Electric Co., the Japanese PV cell maker announced yesterday that it has won an order to supply solar modules to a power plant in Italy. Sanyo will proudly provide 32,302 sets of PV modules to a power plant that will be the largest to have these type of solar panels. The plant developed by a consortium led by Deutsche Bank is expected to generate 7.567MW.

Sanyo has started the delivery of its HIT solar panels produced at its Dorog plant in Hungary with nearly 600 modules on May 17 this year. These HIT panels feature the heterojunction with built-in thin-layer that promises to provide electricity at high energy-conversion efficiency. The plant is expected to be completed by September 2010.
