With the launch of the Samsung Reclaim, the fist phone in the U.S. constructed from eco-friendly bio-plastic materials last year, Samsung touched new heights of eco-friendliness. This time to take its green initiatives still further, the company has recently announced the launch of a new eco-friendly initiative in the U.S. In an attempt to reach the one million target of recycled handsets, the new scheme is set to around 7 million middle and high school students in approximately 9,500 schools in the United States.

The March to a Million pledge is intended to educate students about the importance of recycling mobile phones. The in-school program aims to reach an influential demographic that will help in spread awareness about recycling throughout the communities. Not only will the March to a Million teach students about the social and environmental impacts of recycling mobile phones, but it will also support the Eco-Management 2013 Plan unveiled by Samsung in July last year.
