Sail on the road with stunning wind-powered Land Yacht

Aditi JustaOct 1 2010

Until now, you must have seen yachts sailing in the clear blue waters, but what if I say they might hit the road soon. Well, this is exactly what Finnish designer Krisztian Griz promises. This creative head has designed a vehicle concept that makes use of conventional boat sails to harness wind power for propulsion. Christened the “Land Yacht”, this eco-friendly concept is made from molded plywood and carbon fiber reinforcements at critical structural points.

The three-wheeler measuring 3900 mm long, 3050 mm wide and 3200 mm high has a broader wheelbase (about 2500mm) to ensure better traction on the road. The aerodynamic body of the zero-emission Land Yacht allows it to run up to four times the speed of the wind.
