Rise in sea temperatures harming coral reefs

Scientists for long have been predicting the devastation resulting from climate change. For example,Global Warming can be really harmful to the ocean's treasures - such as the coral reefs. However, it has not been previously assumed that global warming has had a more devastating effect on some of the world's finest coral reefs to an unknown extent. This is suggested by the first report to reveal the long-term impact of the rise in sea temperature on reef coral and fish communities.

An international team of researchers surveyed 21 sites and over 50,000 square meters of coral reefs in the inner islands of the Seychelles in 1994 and 2005. The researchers point out that large sections of coral reefs and much of the marine life they support may be wiped out for good!
