While on one hand several species are catapult in the list of endangered species across world, scientists, on the other are finding ways to conserve them. A University of Alberta scientist claims removing an egg from its nest actually increases the species chances of its survival. He claims that since cranes usually rear a single chick and the other dies to siblicide or is killed by a predator, such as the wolf or fox; in the egg-removal program one egg could be taken and used for artificial propagation programs, which was initiated years ago.
