Recycle Now in partnership with The Really Rubbish Orchestra and BBC Last Choir Standing finalists Hear Me Now! took a commendable initiative to bring about recycling awareness amongst people. The trio organized a special concert at Covent Garden where Hear Me Now! sang carols to the tunes of The Really Rubbish Orchestra. The objective behind the concert was to encourage as many people as possible to recycle old discarded or wrecked tiny electric goods this Christmas period and in the future.

The Really Rubbish Orchestra was seen playing quite a few electronic instruments created using cast off stuff like skateboard slide, computer scanner, old telephone receivers, a walkman and waste metal. They transformed skateboard slide into a guitar, while a computer scanner and waste metal were converted into practice amplifier and a scanner pianner. This unique project became a fun way of educating people.
According to a survey by Recycle Now nearly 30 percent of the youngsters in UK thrown away discarded items into trash. In case all these items were recycled and brought into use again, some 100,000 tonnes of valuable waste electrical could be kept away from landfills annually. The Recycle now website is also proving to become a great help to the eco-conscious. The website provides information regarding how and what to recycle. It also incorporates a postcode finder, which locates all the recycling facilities in your area, and a list showing which retailers take back old electrical goods.
