Keizer Art Walk is going to spruce up with the inclusion of Sentry, Praise, Trilat Relic 1 and Summer Breeze – weather-resistant sculptures made from recycled stuff. Where it’s still to find final destinations for these sculptures, the jurors from Salem’s Artists in Action are pretty sure on their decision to rank them above other 10 finalists. However, another thing they are sure about is a rotational cycle of display these sculptures would follow. Each of the artists were paid a $500 stipend by Winter Art Solstice.

Bruce Fontaine did a great job in welding steel scrap and adding a car spring and a music stand to erect Sentry. Priced at $3000, the smiling guard is different from the artist’s usual artworks. Including a profusion of metals, the 6-foot tall Praise is a live specimen of Jim Johnson’s creativity. The artwork, priced at $10,000, plus $500 for a 3-foot base is made from cast bronze, sheet copper, bronze mesh and steel. Joseph Mross will definitely need some time to erect his Trilat Relic 1, an 11 1/2-foot-tall triangular column to be made from beaten copper. The suggested pricing reads $13,400. Last but not least, the Summer Breeze by Jim Demetro features a bronze child struggling to clasp her hat against some mighty winds.
