At the Foothills Landfill, you could see some statues with some distinct features erected under a tree at the entrance. While others will sideline them as trash or junk, only a thoughtful soul will grasp the inherent beauty of these small sculptures. It’s the sheer talent, concern and a collective effort by the landfill employees that has elevated the discarded items to a reputable stature.

Ted Lauturner and his fellow employees kept on sorting the discarded statues out of the garbage heaps for seven years. Gradually, their collection swelled up with valuable stuffs like a stone angel, a makeshift patio furniture item and so on.
