It has not been a fortnight since we told you about Emergent Architecture’s proposal of creating a green Pop Music Center in Kaohsiung. Now this time, a team of creatives at I.A. Lab of Taiwan University recommends to develop the pioneering Acupuncture Tower in the Taiwanese coastal city Harbor Capital. The proposed construction takes its roots from the memory of the site’s landscape.
The design team, which includes Kulthida Songkittipakdee, Jen Hung, Tien Wu, and Cheng Pan, plans to blend the existing urban fabric through delicate structures that peel off from the main core and integrate to five different areas of the city. It will create recreational spaces and the necessary infrastructure.
The sustainable tower will incorporate several green elements that include seawater desalination, wind and solar energy harvesting and recycling of the port’s waste. The algae-covered façade relies on sunlight and oxygen to produce bio-fuel.
