What you see in the above image is not a spider’s web; it is not a vine either. It’s actually a proposal for a futuristic city that aims to connect nanotechnology and biogenetics for supporting a vast urban population. Polish architects Jakub Fiszer, Piotr Pyrtek and Tomasz Salamon have envisioned this city for they speculate that ‘a constant lack of infrastructure, high pollution levels, and poor urban and architectural design’ strongly ask to plan one.

Dubbed as Bio-City, the urban site will include numerous self-growing plants that could stick to a variety of surfaces for generating more oxygen. An accelerated metabolism will make it possible. They city-vines will serve as green canopies for providing shelter, cutting down carbon emissions and boosting biofuel production.

The buildings will be studded with wind turbines and photovoltaic cells. Building facades will follow moods of the season i.e. green in summer and colored in autumn. Electric vehicles will run on city roads without adding a speck of emissions to atmosphere.

If the concept ever comes into reality, it will convert the most polluted cities into green zones.
