Pimp My Planet gives the globe a post-2012 makeover

Roland Emmerich fantasized how the world will near its end when the fearsome year 2012 approaches its last legs. Though it projects the world fusing into a single entity after the shocker quiets down, none (except some chosen ones) would be there to see it. Just to make you foresee or allude what the future holds for the planet, the folks at Studio Smack have created a video that tends to explore the imminent redesign. Dubbed Pimp My Planet, the project seeks to develop an unbelievably asymmetrical (since we won’t believe it easily) globe.

We live in a time where everything or everyone can be upgraded or ‘pimped'. After the worldwide acceptance of plastic surgery, it was time to subject our worldly possessions (Pimp my Ride) and digital identities (Facebook) to an esthetical and/or functional upgrade. So it's likely that eventually everything will be pimp-able. Even our own planet.
