Paris Subway trains and riders to heat apartment building

Soon after the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) planned to utilize kinetic energy from trains’ braking for its energy needs, the innovation has succeeded in inspiring like-minded folks in Paris within no time. Here a building will harness body heat of riders and fast moving trains at a Metro station nearby to heat its 17 apartments while bringing down carbon emission by one third at least.

The project developers will use a stairwell, which connects the building to the Metro Station, as a heat conduit. However, the stand-alone project requires a rigorous brainstorming to move beyond a single building.
