Panasonic, Japan’s most environmentally friendly manufacturer, has introduced the “Eco Idea House” that is situated along Tokyo Bay. Studded with solar panels for clean energy, fuel cell, and hot water pipes for floor heating, all contribute to make it the most hi-tech home on the market.

Other energy-saving appliances, i.e. a washing machine that washes clothes for half the water, and a refrigerator that "learns" its users' habits, make this house a beacon of sustainable living. Moreover, the built-in sensors follow human presence and when a person vacates a living area, all the appliances, such as lights and air conditioners, switch off automatically.
