Something that destroyed enemy’s ships and submarines for years is now giving life to uniquely exotic furniture. An Estonian sculptor is transforming old naval mines found off the coast of Estonia into stunning furniture. Mati Karmin put his 25 years experience of sculpture making to design these diverse items like armchairs, writing desk, bed, toilet, cupboard, bathtub, swing, fireplace, etc. He uses two existing basic forms of mines – the hemisphere and the cylinder to make remarkable furniture that flaunts its contemporary looks.
