NYC-based eco-artist turns vintage circuit boards into stunning sculptures

A filmmaker-turned electronic artist Theo Kamecke has that peculiar sense of perceiving the aesthetic qualities of the circuitry graphics, which so often translates into a superior art. Using the traditional techniques of marquetry, he morphs tons of vintage circuit boards – with exquisite artistry – into some revealing sculptures, which include Treasure Chest, Digital Jukebox, Nefertiti Cabinet, and much more.

At first, I was looking over my shoulder and felt someone was going to copy me. But then I realized no one is going to do this. It's too hard.

The NYC-based artist has exhibited his art in more than 40 individual and group shows since 1980s. His work has also been acknowledged by many publications internationally.
