A cold front in the New York City has kept its temperatures about 7 degrees below the historical average this month, the National Weather Service informed. This is proving the predictions of the groundhog for an early spring int he city is proving wrong.

Just on the 10th days of April, temperatures have averaged 42 degrees Fahrenheit (5.5 Celsius), which is about one degree warmer compared to the average for April 1874. It was the the coldest on record, Michael Silva, meteorologist with the National Weather Service's Upton, New York, station said.
Silva said,
A polar vortex that originated from northern Canada dropped south and parked itself over the northern U.S. Temperatures are starting to creep back up, but we're still about 5 degrees below normal today.
