The upper section of the shoe primarily incorporates "environmentally preferred materials." The various components like the netting, rand, shoelaces, quarter, tongue and saddle are all made using recycled polyester. As far as the foxing and the shoe tip are concerned, they are constructed of synthetics made with smaller quantities of solvents in comparison with traditional materials.

The company’s sustainability initiatives also include using rice husk filler with rubber to construct the outsole, resulting in reduced rubber requirement. Less rubber requirements means less petroleum used, hence proves to be an asset for the environment. In addition, the process of connecting the upper and the sole unit uses water-based adhesives, and the packaging is paper-free.
