NASA failed to position its Orbiting Carbon Observatory spacecraft in its orbit, which now demands further action. This CO2 hunter satellite was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California at 9.55am (GMT) and was reported unsuccessful in separating the payload fairing or the nosecone. Had all been right, it could have generated the first map of the Earth's carbon dioxide sources. Also, it could have helped scientists to foretell climatic conditions and changes as well. Well, we sure hope that researchers will overcome the glitches and come up with greater precision over the carbon dioxide count and its effects on the environment.
