New York studio MB Architecture has transformed shipping containers into an inviting and reflective art studio. Giving company to a beautiful house in Amagansett, New York, the simple structure is made of two steel shipping containers. Dubbed the “Container Studio," this building has been painted dark charcoal to maintain continuity with the original house and to recede in the shadows of a dense wooded site.

The 840-sq-ft container studio incorporates two containers positioned next to each other perched over a 9’ foundation wall, within which a basement has been created. The staircase takes you from the basement to the upper floor that offers an intimate work area and a sitting area. The glass façade at either ends gives a magnificent view of the endless woods.
