When possibly everything on the face of this earth is embracing the ‘Go Green’ slogan, how can hospitals be left behind. The Massachusetts General Hospital has got an eco-friendly touch with the newly opened Lunder Building. The construction is a beautiful blend of art and science, which will make our beautiful surroundings sparkle like a star.

The walls of the building have been crafted using glass, which stretches up from the floor till the ceiling. The presence of glass ensures apt usage of natural light that will illuminate 150 rooms. The medical community has consciously made good use of recycled materials like rubber and bamboo. This will make the environment healthier and keep both patients and staff hale and hearty. The wonder building pays special attention on the minimum usage of renewable sources of energy.

The façade of Lunder building has been caked with a glazing system. This will make sure that the cooling and heating get perked up by almost 30%. The atrium has been swapped into a garden that has plants hanging from the ceiling area. The roof garden will be ingeniously used for rainwater harvesting, which will be further exploited to water plants in the hospital. The indoors offer a very special and comfortable environment that forces visitors to slip in a state of awe. It defies the typical shape of hospitals and gives birth to a whole new greener approach.
