Man sails plastic boat 1,000 miles to generate environmental awareness

Just a few days we talked about a young Chinese student who rowed his recycling message aboard a paper boat across a river. This time it’s a 37-year-old boat builder from Xiangtan in central Hunan Province importing the same idea to masses. Xia Yu’s has erected a seven meter long boat featuring five sails from all the waste plastic bottles he gathered at his tea house. The boat carrying the green word “Low carbon emission, beautiful world” sailed over 1,000 miles to reach Shanghai while generating environmental awareness on its way. Must say that it’s a great effort and the fact that it comes from China makes it all the more meaningful.
