Skateboard decks that were once used by adventure freaks to perform mind-boggling stunts will now have a little different role to play. A Japanese wood sculptor Haroshi creates magical artwork with used and broken skate decks. Since they come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, picking out the right one from thousands of old decks for you is not an easy task. After picking out the perfect boards Haroshi stacks, cuts and shaves them to give the desired shape.

While shaping the sculptures, this creative artist throws new life into them by placing a broken metal skateboard piece in the core the creation. One such example is Unkei, a 12th century Japanese Buddha sculpture, which got a crystal ball as its "soul". The final touches of paint and polish gives a sheen glow to the sculptures, enhancing the aesthetics even more. Such beautiful initiative to divert waste from landfills certainly deserves appreciation.
