With all good intentions to create a sustainable abode, Indian architect Shraddha Bhandari has just recently completed a residential construction in Gurgaon, India. The J.19 Residence is a highly insulated bungalow crafted from local building materials, reclaimed wood and waste materials. The 7000sq ft home sits comfortably inside the green pockets of an urban locale that tends to blend with the green outdoors. Just perfect for the Indian climatic extremes, the house features high thermal efficiency and a solar-responsive design.

Here is a bit of info provided on the architect's site:
With an 18ft high lounge space at its heart, the building is designed to balance the 5 elements of nature – Earth, Sun, Air, Water and Void. Earth covers and green roofs, openings designed for sufficient natural light and air flow in all living spaces, water bodies oriented for cooling the air entering the building and, series of overlooking terraces, courtyard, verandas and decks are some of the features incorporating the elements.

Just perfect for the Indian climatic extremes, the house features high thermal efficiency owing to a solar-responsive design. Finally yet importantly, indigenous arts and crafts find a reverential place in the overall design of this cool abode. More images here.
