Unveiled on December 7, 2009 at 17:30 at the Tycho Brahe Planetarium in Copenhagen, the “CO2 CUBES: Visualize a Tonne of Change” is a live multimedia art exhibit that aims to transform peoples' perception of climate change and to inspire sustainable solutions. The CO2 Cube raises eyebrows with its huge size that shows one metric tonne of CO2 (1 tonne of CO2 = 8m³). It comes to around the size of a three-story building. The interactive project educates people by making visible the monumental scale of carbon dioxide released in the atmosphere by human activity.

The CO2 Cube is a hybrid of a site-specific sculptural installation and a multi-media art show designed to help the public and policy makers alike gain a deeper understanding of the impact of our CO2 emissions, as well as exploring solutions to reduce our individual and collective CO2 footprints.
