ICE! has already opened at Gaylord Palms Resort for the seventh year consecutively. The spectacular attraction, which runs from November 14, 2009 to January 3, 2010, is bound to take guests on a trip to the North Pole. Nearly 2,000,000 pounds of ice have been used to create ICE!, the magnificent world of ice. The whole thing is kept at a frosty 9 degrees Fahrenheit, so they are giving the visitors oversized parkas to stay comfortable. One of the major highlights of the 18,000 sq. ft. exhibit is the life-size Nativity carved completely of crystal-clear ice. To add to the brilliant artistry, lights are frozen within the ice. A team of 40 artisans from Harbin, China have brought the breathtaking ice sculptures to life.
